Soap, Etsy, Toys & Growing

This post is a little bit of everything that we have been up to since my last post. Speaking of which seems like forever ago when really it was just last week I believe. Funny how something as simple as blogging becomes so a part of your life. I feel like if I don't blog often I am losing touch with everyone and vice versa, not that there is always something exciting and new going on. Maybe its just the girl in me that likes to write in a diary (although this one is as not private) about her day and her thoughts. Who knows

Back to the post

1. *Soap* I finally made homemade laundry soap about 3 weeks ago. I know, where have I been? Living under a rock? I LOVE it. I love the smell, the price, the simplicity. I did have one small drawback, while I was melting the grated soap in boiling water it seemed to chuck together and not fully melt. I ended up having to pick out chucks in the end. Is there a trick to this?? Someone please help!

2. *Etsy* My etsy shop is up and running. Wooo HOO!

3*Toys*
What are these?

Lets start with what looks like a salt shaker.

This is actually Austin's new microphone for harmonica. When it came I was a bit skeptical about it working and why he spent money on it but sure enough he plugs it into the amp and I can hear him loud and clear
It is also made to be easy to hold while holding the harmonica too
 Now to the cigarette box

When this came I laughed.
What is it ?
This is the amp. Yes, the amp.
A cordless amp you plug the microphone into.

And again, yes it works. Who would have thought by the looks of this our whole house could be filled with blues harmonica

*Growing*
And finally I am still here and still growing.
Baby Mason is bigger each day.

This is a quick shot of my big, round, perfect belly

mason's first harmonica

Austin found one of his old harmonicas at his dad's the other day. He brought it home and placed it on mason's dresser. He said it would be his when he was ready to play.

He also likes to hold it up to my belly and ask "wanna play mason?"

I hope mason takes after his daddy =)

my music man

Austin has always played the harmonica.
He would randomly get it out and just play and play. What ever tune he could come up with in his head he would go with it.
He always talked about how much he loved playing it when he was a teenager and how good he got from practicing. He never really got too much back into it until lately. His interest in playing has grown right back to where it was when he was a teenager.
He not only plays everyday now but he reads books, watches lessons online, and he wrote his own song. He is quite good at playing and I can see how much he really enjoys it.

His Cousin Jeremy even brought over an amp to help give him the sound he is looking for, whatever that means :)

George and Reba

Last night I enjoyed watching 2 of the best country music stars ever!

I grew up listening to George Strait as my mother is a die hard fan. I grew to love him too.

I knew every word to all his songs last night and it was amazing to see him live.

(My George shirt courtesy my mom)

Reba was an outstanding performer! She was dancing, two steppin all over the stage. Her energy and emotion was out of this world.

Music to My Ears

The other day when I was working in the office I heard some music playing from the living room. I instantly knew what it was, it was Austin playing the Indian flute.
He use to play it daily in our old apartment but he hasn't really had time to play it lately so he decided to take it out for awhile. I love when he plays it, the sounds it makes is beautiful.
