A Year Already?

Feels like just the other day I was anxiously planning my wedding and making dreams come true. It is hard to believe that it has already been a year since Austin and I were wed. It has been a great year both learning and growing together.

Many of you don't know the story of how we met so I am taking this year's anniversary to share it:

My roommate and I were sitting at home watching a movie when her cousin called saying he wanted us to come over and hang out with him and some of his friends. It was about 10 pm and neither of us wanted to go, of course we were both in sweats and just wanted to stay in and relax. After many calls from her cousin we decided we would go by for a bit and say hi. We ended up enjoying being out and about an hour into it Austin walked in. Right away I got butterflies in my tummy and didn't know what to think. I had been around him before when I hung out with his roommates but never really talked or hung out with him. We got along right away and talked all night. From that night on we were inseparable. I remember waking up the next morning and waiting for him to call or text me... finally I got up the nerve and did it myself. We hung out that day and everyday since! Later I found out that he too didn't want to go hang out that night, since he has worked till about 11:30 pm, and the fact that we both did even against our feelings proves that we were suppose to be together.

The first year has be a journey and we have both learned a lot. Marriage is hard sometimes but the love that grows everyday with it makes it more than worth it.

It has been...??

Hey everyone! I know it has seemed like forever since I was on here but what can I say I live a somewhat busy life. Okay truth be told Austin and my life isnt always exciting enough to blog about BUT coming up is a BIG day for the both of us. Most of you know it is our 1 year anniversay so I plan to do something special on here!!
Until then I will let you in on whats been going on.......

Last week at church Austin's truck window was busted in and my purse stolen. Not a good way to start a Sunday. My car and house keys were in there along with the normal; credit cards, drivers license, phone. Luckily we had the help of Austin's dad to replace all our house locks and get my cards cancelled before TOO much danage was done.

We also took some new couples pictures with Andrea a few weeks back. They turned out amazing and if you would like to see them they are on her blog!

Hope all is well with you bloggers and look for updates soon!

Pumpkin Patch and Pig Races

Saturday we went to the good ol farm for some pumpkin pickin', pig racin' fun!

We enjoyed a small hay ride to the patch and although the pumpkin patch wasn't as sweet as the one we went to last year we were still able to find some good pumpkins we plan to carve later this week.
Austin spent the most time wandering around comparing all the pumpkins so he could find the best one (and the biggest). I, on the other hand, found a cute tiny one that won my heart.

We also fed the huge cow and took some funny pictures.

Later we watched the pig races, which are my favorite! We weren't able to catch them at the fair this year so I was super excited to see them here!

Before the race all the pigs were in one big pile on the the race course taking a little nap. But once the music started playing they were up and ready to go.

We really enjoyed the few hours we spent on this farm and look forward to going next year and being able to take our kids someday.

Pizza and Pumpkins

Last Friday night Austin and I had a pizza and pumpkin party at my moms with my 2 favorite little guys...Z and Drewsy.

From the time we got there Zach was ready to go! He had picked out 3 pumpkins... one for him one for Austin and one for me and Drewsy. Of course Austin had the biggest one because Zach thinks Austin is his older strong brother :)
At first Andrew was not feeling the nasty goo inside the pumpkin. After I cut it opened he looked in, made a nauseating face and said ewww. But soon he was shirtless and ready to go.

In the end Zach decided Austin had made the best pumpkin (go figure)

T Rex

So I wasn't going to blog about the totally sweet T Rex cafe at Legends in Kansas City because I figured Andrea would and her blogs kick my blogs butt, BUT since she hasn't and I have nothing better to blog about I will!

We went to KC last weekend for Austin and Jason's company picnic, since the company they work for is based out of there. The picnic in itself was not anything special or exciting or worth the drive for that much but their very kind boss paid for us to stay the night up there.

We decided to hit the T Rex cafe in Legends since were staying less than a mile away and had heard good things about it. Let me just say it was by far the coolest place EVER!!

There were plenty of dinosaurs and bugs, mammoths, fish and more than you could imagine. Everything moved and made sounds. It snowed on the mammoths and the atmosphere was amazing. I cannot wait to visit KC again as I will suggest we eat there!!

Jason and Austin were like 2 little boys again, they walked around and explored the whole place and of course had to touch everything. It was a absolute blast and if you have children you should definitely consider stopping by.

Fun, Cheap and Wearable

Who likes jewelry?
I do and that's why I took up making my own. Not only is it cheap and crafty its fun! I thought I'd share with you guys how to make a cute bracelet for under 10 bucks!!

You can get everything you need at Hobby Lobby or Wal-Mart.
You will need... (I don't use exact names, just what I call them :) )
Wire String 1.99 for about 5 yards
Clampers 4.99
End pieces 1.99 for 26 pieces (makes 13 bracelets)
and
Beads ~ I buy mine at Beyond Beads and they range from.20 to $3 a bead.
The good thing about buying them there is you buy single beads so you are only buying what you need and you won't have a ton left over. You can also purchase beads at Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby.

Start by closing one end of your bracelet using clampers and end piece.

Add your beads!!

Close the other side

And there you have it, bracelets!!
I know my instructions weren't that in detail but hopefully you get the idea.
