Our Easter was filled with family and food.
I was in charge of dessert for Easter lunch and being as I am pregnant I made 3 different dishes. Cheese cake, cupcakes, and oreo chicks.
It was nice to see both my sisters as Brooke is away for school and Emily will be leaving in August for school this year as well.
Hope you all had a great Easter!

our decision
As you know we are planning to have a home water birth for Mason. Lots of people question why we would do this.
Austin and I spent some time talking about what we liked to have happen when we got pregnant and how we would like to deliver. We both were all for the idea of having a natural birth. At first I was thinking we would do this in a hospital and honestly kind of weary of the idea of having a home birth. His sister had done it once before and and was planning her second one. Her and her husband talked greatly of the experience and wanted to help inform us about it in any way they could. Honestly I wasn't too hone on the idea.
Was it safe?
Who does home births in 2011?
What happens if something goes wrong?
We watched a very informative video, The business of Being Born, and instantly I knew this is what I wanted to do.
I want to make my own decisions without pressure from nurses or doctors.
I want to labor and deliver naturally
I want to have a personal experience with my husband and not 25 staff members
I want to hold my baby immediately after birth for how ever long I want before he is rushed away to be clean, measured and weighed.
I want to be in my house, where I can shower, clean, feed and rest in my bed the night I deliver.
Austin and I both strongly believe this is what is right for us and we have a very knowledgeable midwife we put our trust in. We know the baby and I will be safe and proper care will be given to us. We understand some situations may occur where this birth will not be able to be preformed at home and in that case we trust our midwife to make the necessary decisions and take proper actions in time to get us safely to a hospital.
Although some believe this is still a crazy idea we are more than certain this will be a wonderful experience we will remember and charish.
and to Mason
This is not only your room but where you will be born
this is not only our kitchen sink but where you will take your first bath
this is not only your mommy and daddy's bed but where you will sleep your first night
this is not only where you will be born but it is your home
We are already so in love with you and can't wait to meet you!

this week
I will try not to ruin dinner 2 nights in a row resulting in two nights of fast food
I will put on my walking shoes and enjoy this weather
I start a waitressing job. I will only be working a few days a week but its perfect to get me out of the house, making a little money and walking around
I will put awayall as much of the clean folded laundry as I can ( some of Austin's stuff goes on the shelf of the closet and we all know I can't reach that)
I will bathe the dogs instead of telling Austin every night I will do it tomorrow
I will be 32 week pregnant!

Young Mom Link up!
I follow a young mom blogger who blogs over at The Sweetest Life
She recently posted about wanting to meet young mom bloggers. I thought it was agreat idea to follow more young mom blogs!
I linked up and if you are interested you should too!
A little about me
Yesterday I was talking on the phone with my mom about my baby shower and she had found a game called "who knows mommy best" It was a questionnaire for the guest to fill out about me, the mommy. I loved the idea but couldn't help to think about what do my friends really know about me. I never really had a best friend who I shared everything with. I didn't grow up with someone I can say I have known 10+ years. I don't talk to my friends from elementary or middle school and I am barely in touch with anyone from high school. Most of my friends today are people I met in the last 4 years. Wow, that makes me kind of sad just typing it.
I didn't see any of the questions from the game but I feel compelled to write a little about me so you all know something you may or may not have known before.
I was born in Las Cruces New Mexico and lived in Roswell NM until I was 8.
I have lived in Kansas ever since.
I am the oldest of 3 girls
I have the best mom and dad I could ask for.
My dad is one of the greatest gifts that entered our lives. I am lucky and grateful for him stepping in and taking care of us girls when he didn't have to. I love you Martin.
I have 2 smart, beautiful sisters
My favorite color is green.
I love coffee, mochas and frappuccinos
I love enjoying a beer on the back porch in the evening with my husband
I went to Kensler Elementary, Brooks Middle School and Heights high
I played 4 years of varsity softball at Heights and was a Junior prom nominee (i didn't win, some stupid pommie did =))
I have 3 crazy dogs
I love watching The Office, Justified and any baby show on TLC
I crochet, sew and take photos. All of which I want to be better at.
I don't dread the gym, I love working out and can't wait to start lifting and running again once Mason is here
I LOVE baseball
My favorite team is the Cardinals
My best friend is Austin. I love him with all my heart
I am deeply afraid of spiders and snakes, mainly snakes
I love fishing and being outdoors.
I use to play the violin
I worked as a waitress for 7 years, a bookkeeper for 1, and my last job was for a t-shirt company.
I am 23 years old and currently growing a sweet little boy due in 9 weeks!
Hope you learned something more about me!

Let's catch up
I guess I decided to take last week off from blogging but I wanted to catch you all up on what has been going on.
Austin turned 24 on Friday and decided a pup was a good birthday present for himself. This is his new dog Bo. He is VERY energetic and loving. I guess kind of cute too
He also got a nitro car a few weeks back. This is how you can normally find it
Torn apart because Austin likes to go fast which results in him running into things such as trees and curbs and fences.
He built a ramp to do sweet tricks. He is just like having a kid around
I have been spending time working on my etsy shop
Taking pictures of this beautiful little girl
and sewing - I made this crochet case
new curtains for my mom (which I failed to take any pictures of)
burp rags and bibs for the little girl featured above
and finished a simple quilt for Mason
Now that we are all caught up I will try not to leave you guys wondering about the excitement in my life anymore =)
and did you notice I finally sat down and recreated my blog?

Homemade Crochet Case
Since I have been crocheting so much lately my little plastic bag that the hooks came in is starting to rip and show wear and tear. I looked up clutches and cases and decided to sew one myself.
I use this simple tutorial and made this adorable case.
It fits all my 7 hooks and I absolutely love it. Total cost to make was 4 bucks! Beats buying one for anywhere from $10-$25.

do you....
fold your laundry yet leave it on the shelf in the laundry room only to realize everyday the inconvenience of having to dress in there?
tilt your bathroom mirror so you can see the hallway just to make sure nobody sneaks up on you while you are getting ready?
look down and have this view instead of feet?
freak out when the candy jar is almost empty?
get extra excited that warmer weather is here (and hopefully staying) so you can wear flip flops?
wish your office was an office and not all of these things?
look behind the shower curtain before using the restroom when you are home alone to make sure nobody is hiding in there?
have clothes in all closets of the house because they are all half closets and you and your husband can't fit it all in one?
have a tummy that looks like this yet you aren't freaking out that it is almost swimsuit season?
love PW seventies action? (if you haven't noticed lately I do!)
no?
it's just me? =)
