First Fish

On the what could be the last decent weather day of the year we took Mason fishing for just the second time. And he caught his first fish

Austin loves to put Mason in his pack and wanted him to be right there when they caught a fish. As you can see Mason was less than thrilled when they reeled one in
A man stopped and smiled at us and said "starting him young" We both love fishing and spend many days and evening out doing so, so we hope Mason will enjoy it just as much

Mason spent most of his time with his tongue out or making silly faces in the wind

The weather, other than the wind, was perfect fall weather. The trees were turning colors and the sun was just warm enough to keep us comfortable in light jackets.

Fishing

With all the heat lately we haven't been fishing much. Finally it cooled down this last week and I was eager to go catch some cat fish. We went to Sedgwick County park. I decided to go for a walk before I began fishing, Upon returning 25 minutes later Austin had already caught one! After that there was a dead period and nothing was really biting. I later had 4 bites but was unable to hook them :(

Austin caught 2 more before we left.
A baby and a rather rowdy one

We always use Hog Wild Stinky Bait
It's the best

That's MY dork

Just when I thought Austin's fishing hobby couldn't get more weird I came home to this.

Not only does he have a fishing vest, 5 poles, a gym bag full of fly tying equipment and more knowledge than anyone I know but now he has a fishing watch. Yep you heard me right a fishing watch.

Apparently this watch does EVERYTHING.

Let me enlightening you on just a few things....

All the normal watch stuff: Alarm, stop watch, time and date

PLUS

~Moon Phase

~Alerts throughout the day when the fish are biting according to your location

I couldn't help but laugh as he sat at the computer figuring out our longitude and latitude to program the watch. As he looked at me and in all seriousness asked if I thought he was a dork I simply responded "Yes, but you are my dork."
