Lets be honest

being a mom is hard. Being a first time mom is hard.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE being a mom and I love my little guy to death.

What is hard about being a mom is.....

~not knowing what to expect or when

~Not getting sleep therefore always feeling stressed, overwhelmed and on edge

~wearing gym shorts and a tank everyday

~combing your hair once maybe twice a week

~not being able to jump in the car and go run an errand without packing a bag, feeding the baby and wondering if he will behave in the car and store or if he will throw a fit cause he is hungry

~wanting to cry every now and again. I don't know why but some days I feel like sitting and crying, maybe it's hormones

~continuing to keep a house clean, laundry washed, meals made, food in the cupboards, a happy baby and still finding a split second for yourself

I am so happy we have Mason in our lives and I wouldn't trade it for anything but on a real note mommyhood is hard.

Kuddos to all you mamas out there!

  1. I can so relate! Some time around 3 months things got a little easier as far as taking her out and getting things done around the house but then she changes and starts doing things differently! So I guess you kinda get used to the constant change! Just know ur not alone. I usually want to cry on a daily basis, get frustrated and still don't sleep more then 3 hrs at a time! But it's all sooo worth it! Hang in there!

  2. All this is totally normal for a new mommy, so don't worry that something is wrong. We all go through it. What I wish I would have known in those first months is that it really is short lived. When I had my second one, I was more at ease because I knew what to expect and I could remind myself that the hard part is short lived. And your world will totally change for good when you start getting more sleep! I'm always here if you need to talk!

  3. You are so right! And, not just for first time moms. :) And, Michelle is right. Soon you will look back on this time and wonder how where it went! Don't worry about keeping up on housework...it will always be there! I don't think my house has been super clean for...um...6 years. :) And, I cried most of last Thursday afternoon. Being exhausted does that to you. I hope you are planning to come to Bunco. Getting out can be hard, but oh, so worth it!

  4. I completely agree, it keeps getting crazier as the months pass by but it is an amazing journey! :)
